The tonewoods that we use are handselected based on how fast the sound travels across the board, richness of tap tones, deflection and woodgrain.
Though bracing patterns affect the tonal characteristics of an acoustic guitar, there is no formulaic way of guaranteeing the best tone.
Every piece of wood is different that is why we take time to individually voice every De Laet acoustic plucked musical instrument, ranging from customized bracing and wood thicknesses for each them to the use of protein glues and ultra-thin finish with our own varnishes recipes, to bring out another level of musicality.
Together, these refinements deliver much more than the sum of their parts. These refinements deliver an instrument that has a very delicate response, rich in projection and full of character for everyone from pros to hobbyists, they make the playing experience more expressive, inspiring and fun.
We use noble materials, varnishes developed in the workshop with natural ingredients and high-end accessories.

Viola Brasileira or Viola Caipira is a Brazilian ten-string guitar with five courses of strings arranged in pairs.
It was introduced in the state of São Paulo, where it is widely played as the basis for the música caipira, a type of folk-country music originating in the caipira country of south-central Brazil.
It has its origins in Portuguese violas. Violas are direct descendants of the Latin guitar, which, in turn, has an Arabic-Persian origin derived from instruments such as the lute.
With a sound that belies its small size, the De Laet Viola Brasileira has exceptional note separation with a quick attack and beautiful harmonic complexity.
The smaller body dimension and short 23 1/5" scale also imparts a percussive quality to the note attack that makes this an exceptional finger style and recording guitar.
